Turnkey supply of the Greater Istanbul Municipal Abattoir. The abattoir includes complete slaughtering lines and equipment for treatment of cattle and sheep tripes, intestines and feet.

A refrigeration plant, a meat and bone meal plant and a waste water treatment plant are also integrated parts of the abattoir. All according to the EEC regulations.

Production and Capacity

The project comprises the following facilities and with the mentioned capacities.

Lairage
350 cattle

Slaughtering
350 cattle per day

By-products
Processing equipment for treatment of cattle and sheep tripes, intestines and feet.

Refrigeration
Chill rooms for 252 cattle carcasses and for 5250 sheep carcasses
Blast freezer for 20 tonnes of meat
Cold store for 120 tonnes of meat

Rendering plant
Dry rendering plant for the inedible waste from the slaughter.

Responsibilities

The responsibility of INTERCOOL:

  • Design and planning of the slaughter and processing plants in accordance with the EEC regulations
  • Supply of all the imported equipment and materials including equipment for complete slaughter lines, processing equipment for treatment of cattle and sheep tripes, intestines and feet, refrigeration equipment for chillers, blast freezer and cold store, ventilation, rendering plant equipment and waste water treatment equipment.
  • Provision of expert supervisory staff for the installation and commissioning of all the processing equipment.
  • Control and coordination of secondary overseas equipment suppliers
  • Shipment of all the imported equipment and materials.

The project was undertaken by a consortium consisting of INTERCOOL FOOR TECHNOLOGY LTD and Yasar Holding A.S, one of the largest industrial groups within the red meat industry in Turkey.
